We all know how obsessed Wes Anderson is with luggage. On that note, I watched The Royal Tenenbaums again the other night and examined his use of luggage in composing each scene when all three children return home. Also notice how he integrates the typeface Futura Bold—much like Woody Allen’s use of EF WINDSOR Light Condensed—to brand the look of his films. For someone who wears such muted tones, the colors in his films are very bold.
P.S. I threw in Margot’s closet just for show. I love, love, love the stripes and loafers.
Eli: I always wanted to be a Tenenbaum.
Royal: Me too, me too.
