Whitney Dail shares the same DNA as stardust. She spends most of her time daydreaming about the universe and anything sixties Space Age, riding her bike (and scooter) often, researching and staying informed about current issues in contemporary art, and watching pro-cycling road races. Whitney has a BFA in Sequential Art (a fancy word for comics) and is currently seeking her Masters in Arts Administration at SCAD.

I’m a sucker for geometric designs and I saw these quilts and coverlets on Design*Sponge by Rajboori, Stephen Burks of Readymade Projects and home textile industry veteran, Mitun Chakrabarti. The colors and shapes are beautiful! I have wanted a new quilt or comforter for so long now, but haven’t found the right one until now. Not sure of the retail price, but most likely out of my budget. I grew up with gray ones, but my mom won’t give hers up. 2. Marimekko Fokus Shower Curtain 3. & 4. Marimekko duvet covers 5. Urban Outfitters coat rack 6. Alexander Henry Sofia floral pillow cover 7. Hmong Textiles

I saw Gran Torino today, which was really sad. The highlight of the movie for me was the glimpse of traditional Hmong attire and textiles in the neighbors’ house. The silver jewelry that they wear is beautiful and is supposed to bring good fortune. Look at the color and detail!
